Three kinds
One for the morning, one for the table, one for bed
A toddler does not need the same song at eight in the morning and at seven at night. These are written to sit in different parts of the day.

Real drums and a beat you can move to, in the Afrobeat rhythms the person writing them grew up dancing to. These are the loud ones, for the middle of the morning when everybody needs to get out of their skin for three minutes.

- The chorus is praise, plainly. Thank you Jesus, sung in words a two year old can copy on the second listen.

The rhymes, with the words put right
The shape of a nursery rhyme is the shape a small child already knows: short lines, a strong rhyme, the same thing again with one word changed. That repetition is what makes the letters and the numbers stick.

- Same familiar shape, different centre. Where a rhyme would normally trail off into nonsense, this one lands on something true about God.

- Letters and letter sounds, first words, spelling out loud, counting to ten and back.

For the end of the day
Slow, quiet, and short. Nothing in a lullaby here goes faster at the end, and nothing rolls on into another video by itself. It is meant to be the last thing on before the light goes off.

- The line at the end is the one you say again with the light off. Jesus is near, Jesus is not asleep, you are safe.
- What it teaches
- Rhythm, a settling pace, and the verse of the week said gently.
