Is anything really free, or is this a trial?
Your first activity pack is free with an account, and it stays free. The songs are free to listen to with no account at all. Beyond that there are extra printables at $2.99 each, and a membership that opens the whole library along with the longer, ad free teaching videos.
Why is one printable free and another $2.99?
Every episode comes with its page, and that page is free, because the song and the sheet are meant to be used together. The extras are the ones beyond that: more of the same letter, more counting, more cutting out, for the weeks when one sheet is not enough. You never need those to follow along.
If I buy a page, do I keep it?
Yes, permanently. It goes into your library and it stays there. It is not tied to a membership and it is not taken back if you cancel one.
What does my child actually learn?
Letters and the sounds they make, reading, spelling, numbers and counting, colours, shapes, body parts, first words, and music and rhythm. It is the same ground any good preschool programme covers, taught through songs and pages that point at Jesus.
How Christian is it?
Openly. Every song carries one short, plain line about Jesus, and there is a Bible verse with each set of pages. There is nothing denominational in it and nothing frightening in it.
What kind of music is it?
Three kinds. Praise songs in Afrobeat rhythms for the loud part of the morning, nursery rhymes with the words put right, and lullabies for the end of the day. Real instruments, and words a toddler can copy.
What age is this for?
Two to seven. It is written for a two year old first, so the songs are short, repetitive and easy to sing badly. The printables carry on being useful up to about seven.
My child gets wound up by the big channels. Is this different?
It is paced differently, deliberately. No hard cut every second, no flashing, and nothing that plays on into something else once a song finishes. The lullabies are made to be calm enough for bedtime. I am not going to make any claims about what other channels do to a child, only about how this one is made.
Why not just use what comes up in a search?
You can, and plenty of it is well made. Most of it is also entirely secular, so the faith part has to come from somewhere else and you end up running two libraries. This is an attempt at one library that does both jobs.
What is on the teaching videos, and what do they cost?
$4.99 a month, or $49.99 a year, which also opens every printable in the library. The song teaches the letter in a chorus. The video slows down and writes it on screen, spells the word out, and takes the line about Jesus a little further. Cancel in two clicks, and every printable you already have stays yours.
How much is published so far?
One episode, and the printables that go with it. I am writing and drawing the next ones. I would rather you knew that before you made an account than after.
Do I need a printer?
It helps, but any home printer and ordinary paper will do. Everything is one page and drawn to work in black and white, so a print shop is cheap too if you would rather.
Can I use the printables at Sunday school?
Yes. Print them as often as you like for your own children, and using them with a Sunday school class, a playgroup or a classroom is fine as well. Please do not sell them or put the files up somewhere else.
What happens to my email address?
It logs you in, and now and then it lets me write to you about the site. It is not sold and it is not passed on to anybody. The privacy page says the same thing at slightly greater length.
